SkinTwin · Last updated 10 July 2026
SkinTwin helps you decide on skincare products by ranking reviews from people
whose skin is similar to yours ("skin twins"). This policy explains what we
collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Skin profile — the answers you give during onboarding
(skin type, primary concern, active ingredient and strength, sensitivity,
how long you have used the active, age band, climate). No name or email is
required to use the app.
- Account identifier — a random anonymous user ID created
on your device to store your profile and preferences. It is not tied to your
real identity unless you later add an email.
- Usage events — which review lists and reviews you open and
an optional 1–5 usefulness rating, used to improve matching quality. Events
are keyed to your anonymous ID only.
- Photos (optional, future feature) — if you choose to add a
progress photo, it is stored privately and never shown to other users without
your explicit opt-in.
What we do NOT collect
- No name, email, or phone number is required.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA). We do not track you across other apps or
websites.
- No location beyond the general "climate" band you select.
How we use it
Your skin profile powers the core feature: ranking reviews by similarity to
your skin. Usage events help us measure and improve whether matched reviews are
more useful than a generic list. We do not sell your data.
Storage and security
Data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security, so your
profile, drafts, and events are readable only by your own authenticated session.
Photos, if added, are private by default and served via short-lived signed URLs.
Sharing
Aggregated, de-identified review outcomes may inform match quality for other
users, but your individual identity is never shared. We use no third-party
advertising or analytics SDKs.
Your choices
- Retake the profile quiz at any time to update your data.
- Request deletion of your profile and events by emailing us (below).
Children
SkinTwin is not directed to children under 13. The onboarding age band exists
only to improve matching.
